Teen Writing Workshop Series

Today begins a series of three (Or more? We’ll see.) free teen writing workshops at the Granite branch of the Salt Lake County Library. Last year I did ten of these things across two libraries, and it was a ton of fun. This year I’m much busier (specifically thanks to successes in writing and publishing), so I’m doing fewer—but I still want to do a few, because—again—they’re fun.

Kids showing up to chat will find us attending to their interests. Do they want to learn the basics of writing fiction or nonfiction? Want to find places to publish their work? Want to learn what steps to take to self-publish instead? I’m here to help. I know some of the things (and can ask people where I lack the info), and I’m happy to share what I’ve learned.

The dates for our first three scheduled events this year follow:

  • September 21st 2-4pm
  • October 26th 2-4pm
  • November 16th 2-4pm

And probably one in December… we’ll see. That’s when my reading time begins for the current call for submissions.
